This week’s selection is the Second Life Mug by LeFabShop.
This item is a practical item is a way to transform used glass jars into functioning mugs, part of LeFabShop’s “Project RE_” up -cycling initiative. The print includes a ring that fits snugly around the jar and a handle to hold it with. In this way you can give the jar a “second life”.
This particular design, originally conceived by LeFabShop’s creative director, Samuel Bernier, fits the Bonne Maman jar commonly available in Europe and elsewhere.
Of course, not everyone has Bonne Maman jars, but the idea is easily replicated for jars of any size, if you’re able to work almost any 3D modeling tool. In fact, this concept screams for someone to create a generator / customizer 3D model service in which you can specify the jar diameter and handle length.
