Z-Corp, makers of the very popular Z-Corp 3D printers used by many 3D print services, recently announced they have struck a deal with EDST, the “largest PLM and 3D Visual Simulation solutions provider in India”. Evidently EDST works with some 650 clients across India in a variety of industry segments.

What does this mean? We think it’s a breakthrough, since India is now home to a very large base of IT professionals, many of whom have caught the entrepreneurial spirit. We suspect their exposure to 3D Printing via EDST’s efforts and others will likely result in new 3D services ventures that may compete with existing services such as Ponoko, Shapeways, Fabidoo and others.
