Wired’s GeekDad blog published a list of their “Top 18 Geek News Stories” for 2008 and the first one on the list was the self-reproducing RepRap device, which occurred earlier in 2008.
We suspect non-geek society doesn’t quite realize the importance of this event, as shortly after the reproductive event, the child parts were destroyed!
