How mainstream is this? Late night host Jay Leno, one of the world’s most notable car fanatics. As the owner of very large number of vehicles, he has a problem that anyone with a collection of old things may have: “I can’t get a replacement part!”

In a video on Jay Leno’s Garage, Jay describes his situation, where a part on an ancient steamer broke, and he realized the last dealer closed in 1910! How to get a new part? 3D Scanning and Printing are the answer. Jay takes the problem to Next Engine, who scan the part, then print a new copy on a Dimension 3D printer. Jay walks us through the entire process, and makes it look easy.

Perhaps we can reproduce some of his cars?
