You might recall TeamPlatform, the new service that enables secure sharing of 3D models? They’ve released a software API that enables much wider use of their service.

But first let’s back up a bit: TeamPlatform is a web service specifically designed around handling 3D model development. You can create a secure, private “workspace” in which you can share 3D models with other modelers or clients. Any group that works with 3D models can make use of this service.

The change is the API. This software enables a developer to put portions of the shared environment on websites, smartphones and apps. What does this mean for you? It could mean that apps may soon appear that greatly simplify your 3D modeling and sharing workflow. Stay tuned!
