3D print service Sculpteo has abruptly lowered their pricing for 3D models. Evidently their print volume must have increased sufficiently to permit more effective plastic purchases from their suppliers.

This change affects only their plastic price. They say:

Thanks to this success, we can now lower the price of your 3D prints made with our plastic material! We truly appreciate your business and this is our way to make 3D printing always more accessible to you.

In general we’ve seen the price of plastic slowly drop from many suppliers, mostly for the same reasons: volume purchases are cheaper. That means, in general, that 3D printing is growing.
