Sculpteo’s Strategy

At CES we dropped by the Sculpteo booth and had a chance to discuss the state of business with CEO and co-Founder Clément Moreau.

Like most companies in the 3D printing space, Sculpteo is faced with the difficult question: “If you can print anything, what do you print?” The availability of printable 3D models is a direct limit on their business.

To solve this dilemma, Moreau’s company has begun partnering with others who can provide dynamically generated 3D models. So far they’ve partnered with generators for iPhone cases, pottery,  figurines and we expect more to come.

Is this strategy working? Evidently so, as they say their business has “grown significantly” in the past year.
