Are You Going to Solidworks World 2018? We are.

Solidworks World is the annual conference supporting one of the world’s most noted 3D CAD tools, Solidworks. It’s the 3D software you’ll most likely find on almost any design engineer for the past twenty years. 

Each year they hold the conference, which in 2018 will be held in downtown Los Angeles, where there will be numerous educational sessions on the product, how it can be used in various scenarios and discussion of futures. 

But what’s of most interest to me is the associated trade show. Some conferences believe they can make a bit of extra money by selling exhibition space along side their talk sessions, and this is no exception. 

It makes sense for everyone: Dassault Systemes, makers of Solidworks, grow the conference by including vendor exhibits; vendors are able to easily show their wares to the thousands of attendees; Attendees get not only informational sessions, but also can see and touch new equipment and software, and in particular from Solidworks “partners”, who provide products that can fit directly in with Solidworks. 

And for me, I will be able to see the exhibits as well, which typically include a number of 3D print vendors who work with Solidworks. Last year there seemed to be around 100 vendors, so it’s not a small show. 

As this show takes place in California, there will certainly be several 3D print vendors located in that region present, who we will visit.
