Never one to fall behind the times, Acer is updating their previously announced Concept D laptops with NVIDIA’s new Quadro RTX graphics cards.

The laptops in question are the Acer Concept D 9 Pro, Concept D 7 Pro, Concept D 5 Pro, Concept D 3 Pro – all of which will be out later this year.

Starting with the flagship model, the Concept D 9 Pro will now have a 17.3-inch, 4K-enabled screen with 32 GB of RAM and Nvidia’s Quadro RTX 5000 GPU. Beefy. This laptop was supposed to support an RTX 2080 GPU but with the new graphics card, the Concept D 9 Pro seems much more suited for tasks such as GPU intensive tasks such as 3D rendering or working with virtual reality and artificial intelligence apps. The Concept D 9 Pro will be out this November.

The Concept D 7 Pro has a 15.6-inch 4K screen and is also implanted with a Quadro RTX 5000 GPU. If you are the type of person who’s constantly on the move, having this lighter laptop with the same graphics card as the Concept D 9 Pro might not seem like a bad idea. The Concept D 7 Pro will be out this September.

If you don’t need that much graphical fidelity on your hands, the Concept D 5 Pro comes with the still-powerful Quadro RTX 3000 GPU. Acer has made two versions of this particular model, one with a 15.6-inch screen and another with a 17.3-inch display (both of which support 4k).

You won’t have as much power as a Quadro RTX 5000, but if your main tasks are smaller rendering/animation projects, 3D graphic, simultion, or other CAD related functions, then this laptop should more than suffice. The Concept D 5 Pro arrives the last in the product line with a December release date.

This is a very small behemoth of an online community about 3D CAD, technology, design, robots, ninjas… Ok, maybe not ninjas so much, but those guys are COOL so there just might be something about some dang ninjas. Besides the occasional blast of intensely cool product design and technology, we look at what’s going on in the world of 3D, add a splash of business insight and web tech into the mix and there ya got your SolidSmack.
