Next week, 3Dnatives’ ADDITIV digital World event is set to virtually gather expertise in additive manufacturing from NASA to Ford, with plenty of time to network with the industry.

The 3D printing industry is usually in the midst of a busy autumnal event schedule by late October, but it’s 2020 so nothing is quite “usual”. That goes for events, too. But, while we can’t safely gather in person for international industry events, digital conferences have been a virtual lifeline to keep us all connected — and this one-day event has a lot to offer.

Our friends at 3Dnatives are no strangers to excellent events in 3D printing. Like us, they travel extensively to get on-the-ground insights into additive manufacturing. 3Dnatives offers their insights in English, French, German, and Spanish to their million-plus unique monthly visitors. They’ve become so attuned to the industry that they’ve been hosting virtual events to ensure ongoing connection — and with three successful virtual events so far, the team is showing no signs of slowing down.

ADDITIV digital World is set to be their largest virtual event yet.

Held all day on Thursday, October 22 — from 8am to 6pm EDT — the event is free for all attendees and exhibitors.

2,000+ professionals and 75+ exhibitors are expected to join the one-day event.

ADDITIV digital World is set to feature six conferences, five networking sessions — and one afterwork party to unwind with colleagues across the industry.

The event will be held on Remo, a digital platform which has been proving increasingly popular lately for its ease-of-use in navigating between “tables” to talk to just a few other attendees as well as for presentations broadcast to all. Remo features these tables and “lounges” across a few different “floors” so you can go around to meet exhibitors at their virtual stands. One-on-one meetings are also possible at private tables. Sponsors including PostProcess Technologies, DyeMansion, and Formlabs will also have virtual lounges to hang out in during the day.

“I think it’s safe to say that there isn’t anyone who hasn’t been affected from this year’s unfortunate health crisis. Our community in the field of Additive Manufacturing of course is not immune to both the difficulties of doing business during such uncertain times, as well as maintaining a good level of communication with the rest of the industry. Having used the format of a virtual event a few times by now, it is amazing to see how efficient it can be,” comments Filippos Voulpiotis, Chief Business Officer of 3Dnatives. He continues, “ADDITIV digital World will be gathering some of the best minds in the world of AM, and I truly cannot wait to hear from them as well as catch up with everyone in our wonderful community.”

So who is Filippos so excited to hear from?

Leaders across a variety of additive manufacturing perspectives will be lending their voices to the conversations happening throughout the day.

Among the speakers announced so far are recognizable names like Terry Wohlers (Wohlers Associates), Nora Toure (Women in 3D Printing / Fast Radius), A. John Hart (MIT), Paul Gradl (NASA), Janet Kar (LINK3D), Jonah Myerberg (Desktop Metal), Peter Rogers (Autodesk), Elena López (Fraunhofer Institute), and Tuan Tranpham (AREVO).

Speakers hail from these and other well-known companies — think HP, Ford Motor Company, Facebook, Formlabs. Panel discussions will offer actually-interesting conversations between these experts, with attendees encouraged to participate in the discussion via live Q&A.

“As a young, innovative company it is self-evident for us to be part of the new wave of digital events,” said Felix Ewald, CEO and Co-Founder of DyeMansion. “We are excited to meet the AM industry at ADDITIV digital World and I am personally looking forward to being part of a suspenseful panel discussion next to players like HP and Facebook.”

The six panels will include such topics as the timely “Reimagining industrial supply chains using Additive Manufacturing” and the thoughtful “Can additive manufacturing fulfil the promise of mass customization?”

45-minute networking sessions between each panel will allow for more information- and business-oriented conversations among attendees to take place regularly.

And, of course, it all concludes with the afterparty. While it may not be quite the same as most after-hours parties we’re used to, you’re still welcome to toast with your colleagues across the industry at the close of a long day of thoughtful presentations and conversations.

I’ve already registered — hope to see you there! Registration is free and open now, and the full event schedule is available at ADDITIV digital World.
