Xtellar combines current Braskem AM material products with Taulman 3D’s.

As one of the world’s largest producers of polyolefins, Braskem offers solutions for many of the primary 3D printing technologies, including as Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), and LFAM Pellet Extrusion. Through our decades of expertise in materials science and product development, the company’s state-of-the-art 3D printing labs, and newly-formed strategic partnerships with industry leaders, enabled the company to bring a wide selection of new products to the market.

As AM continues to play a growing role in many polymer companies’ strategies, Braskem is now launching a new and entirely dedicated business under the brand Xtellar.

Led by CEO Jason Vagnozzi and operational as of June 2023. Xtellar will integrate all of Braskem’s AM material business, including the recently acquired Taulman 3D. “We are pleased to officially share that we are spinning off the Braskem 3D Materials Division and Taulman3D to a new company, Xtellar. This new company is being launched under, Oxygea a Corporate Venture Capital firm focused on sustainable innovation and digital transformation in the industry,” Vagnozzi said in a statement. “The formation of Xtellar will allow us to accelerate our growth in additive manufacturing by allowing us to further explore new channels to market and strategic partnership opportunities. We will retain a strong bond with Braskem via a strategic partnership for the development of new materials, allowing us to leverage a substantial set of resources.

Braskem’s filaments, powders, and pellets are designed specifically for 3D printing. Filaments and pellets include a selection of internally engineered fiber-reinforced and recycled polypropylene and polyethylene materials.

The company’s PP400 polypropylene powders for SLS – not currently available as part of the Xtellar offering – were developed through a strategic partnership with Advanced Laser Materials (ALM), has developed its first line of powders for Selective Laser Sintering (SLS).

In January 2023, Braskem acquired taulman3D, a leading 3D filament supplier of nylon, recycled PETG, and PET filaments to aerospace, automotive, healthcare, industrial, government, and higher education professionals worldwide. The acquisition complements Braskem’s existing portfolio of filaments pellets, and powders designed specifically for 3D printing applications.
