Type A Machines Series 1 Pro Bundle

Type A Machines produces very powerful desktop 3D printers suitable for professional use, but they’ve made them even better with a bundle that includes several new features.

The new “Pro Enterprise Bundle” is based on their Series 1 For machine that has been quite successful in industry.

The removable BuildTak surface adhesion system is now included on the Type A Machines Series 1 Pro Bundle

First, they’ve made a deal with BuildTak to include that company’s removable print surface on the Series 1 Pro. This remarkable system provides a way for very rapid machine printing operations, as the plate can be swapped out for a fresh surface almost instantly. While you can leisurely remove the completed print from the removed plate, a second print can be underway on the printer.

They’ve also introduced multiple sizes of their current stainless steel hot end. Now you can choose from 0.4 or 0.6 nozzles. The 0.6 nozzle is 2.25X the size and thus can 3D print larger objects much more rapidly.

“Draft Shields” on the new Type A Machines Series 1 Pro Bundle

They’ve also added what they call a “Draft Shield” to the machine. These are separately attached side panels that attempt to keep drafts away from the printing action, where they might adversely affect operating temperatures. No, this isn’t an enclosed chamber, but it’s a good step forward.

But the big news is the introduction of a new 0.4mm tungsten carbide nozzle. They explain further:

Tungsten carbide, with a Vickers number of 2600, is a material so tough that it can only be shaped by cubic boron nitride and diamond powder tools. As high a tolerance as our stainless steel hot end is manufactured to, our tungsten carbide hot end is manufactured to a tolerance four times greater. Think of this hot end as the server-grade processor to the stainless steel’s workstation grade.

The idea behind this nozzle is to ensure that busy operators using the machine 24/7 can expect little change in nozzle characteristics while operating. Typical brass nozzles will gradually deform, particularly when exposed to harder materials, and even stainless steel will eventually do so. But the tungsten carbide nozzles will take far longer to deteriorate.

The bundle is priced at USD$4,295.
