PBS has produced a brief seven minute video providing an overview of 3D printing, including interviews with Solidoodle, Shapeways and Wired.

They cover the possibilities of the technology, whether for good or evil and generally get you wound up about the future. Exciting!

  1. Absolutely, although for now it might seem like a too good to be true sort of deal. I can imagine companies that sell small, easily produced, household things will hate it if resin gets cheap enough. Lego could go out of business if 3d printing your own set ends up cheaper than buying one of theirs. The world will change in ways that we can't imagine.
