Ultimaker 2 Unboxing

Barnacules Nerdgasm documents his Ultimaker 2 unboxing experience. If you’re at all interested in acquiring Ultimaker’s latest personal 3D printer, you’ll want to watch this video.

The video quickly shows the unpacking experience, but provides a great tour of the new features included in the Ultimaker 2, which is one of the most popular personal 3D printers available today. Side panels, bed leveling screws, noise reduction features, tool kits and more are examined.

For those who are unsure of whether the Ultimaker 2 is difficult to set up and begin printing, the video shows the complete setup sequence. Bed leveling and configuration appear very straightforward. We particularly like the way the machine provides a step-by-step list of instructions on the front panel for all setup activities.

This particular machine was slightly damaged during shipment, as a broken fan was found. This seems to be a very common experience; we’ve had the pleasure of finding broken 3D printers in the box – and even had to return several. We think it’s due to a combination of loose mechanical parts and careless courier personnel.
