It’s that time of year again, and there are quite a few Black Friday sales on for desktop 3D printers.
One that I’ve been looking at is Creality’s, a company that always makes the best of holiday sales. The company has recently launched several new machines, some of which we’ve been testing ourselves. This year they seem to be taking a different strategy than simply putting products on sale.
Instead of announcing a set of sale prices, they instead have a sequenced series of events. Here’s how it works:
- Nov 1 – Dec 1: Promotion deals period
- Nov 4 – Nov 30: Lucky wheel (daily “spin to win”)
- Nov 10 – Nov 30: Planet giveaway
- Nov 16 – Nov 23: “Crazy” flash deals
- Nov 27 – Nov 30: Black Friday carnival
- Dec 1: Cyber Monday
This means that it is a bit difficult to list all the deals the company is providing to buyers, because they’re occasionally changing them during the sale period. The idea is that you should keep returning to their site to see the latest deals, and some of them are pretty good.
As of this writing the Creality online store lists over two dozen of their popular products with substantial discounts. I’ve gone through the US store (other country stores have similar discounts in their respective currencies) and sorted the list by discount percentage for your consideration:
| PRODUCT | TYPE | MSRP | DISCOUNT | PERCENT |
| Falcon2 22W | Laser Engraver | $1,199 | $499 | 58% |
| Falcon2 40W | Laser Engraver | $1,619 | $699 | 57% |
| Falcon2 Pro 22W/40W | Laser Engraver | $1,329 | $799 | 40% |
| Raptor | 3D Scanner | $1,499 | $934 | 38% |
| K1 Max | 3D Printer | $999 | $629 | 37% |
| Creality Hi Combo | 3D Printer | $599 | $379 | 37% |
| K1C 2025 | 3D Printer | $559 | $369 | 34% |
| Falcon2 Pro 60W | Laser Engraver | $2,699 | $1,899 | 30% |
| Creality Hi | 3D Printer | $389 | $279 | 28% |
| RaptorX | 3D Scanner | $4,599 | $3,299 | 28% |
| Falcon A1 Pro 20W | Laser Engraver | $1,099 | $799 | 27% |
| SpacePi X4 | Dryer | $199 | $149 | 25% |
| Otter | 3D Scanner | $959 | $719 | 25% |
| Space Pi (Plus) | Dryer | $104 | $79 | 24% |
| K2 Plus | 3D Printer | $1,299 | $999 | 23% |
| Falcon A1 10W | Laser Engraver | $599 | $466 | 22% |
| K2 Combo | 3D Printer | $699 | $549 | 21% |
| Ferret Pro | 3D Scanner | $449 | $359 | 20% |
| Otter Lite/Basic | 3D Scanner | $759 | $607 | 20% |
| K2 Plus Combo | 3D Printer | $1,499 | $1,199 | 20% |
| Raptor Pro | 3D Scanner | $1,999 | $1,614 | 19% |
| Sermoon S1 | 3D Scanner | $2,699 | $2,399 | 11% |
| Space Pi Dryer | Dryer | $60 | $54 | 10% |
| K2 Pro Combo | 3D Printer | $1,099 | $999 | 9% |
As you can see, there are some very substantial discounts. The biggest discounts from Creality this year are for their laser engravers, which are marked down almost 60% in some cases. If you’re looking for a desktop laser engraver, it’s unlikely you’ll find a better deal than this.
As for 3D printers, the biggest discount is for the K1C at 34%. That’s pretty significant, as the K1C is a very good 3D printer. We tested one last year and found it to be a very capable system. I still use it today.
The K1C is by no means Creality’s latest device, which possibly is the reason for the big discount. On the other end of the scale, they’re offering the K2 Pro Combo at a nine percent discount, which is understandable because it’s their most recent flagship 3D printer. We’re currently testing this system, and while we haven’t published our report yet, I can tell you that the testing is going quite well.
The Creality Hi Combo, a multicolor 3D printing system, is discounted a huge 37%, at only US$379. This is a machine we previously tested, with our Enthusiast rating at 9 out of 10. This could be an inexpensive way to get a true multicolor 3D printer on your desktop.
Another interesting deal hidden in the list is the Space Pi Dryer, listed for only US$54. That’s a very low price for a competent single-spool drying system. Again, this is a unit that I use frequently — it has programmed sequences for a variety of filament materials, making it ideal for times when you just need to dry a spool in advance of a big print job. The larger Space Pi (Plus) is also a good deal at only US$79.
For 3D scanners, Creality is offering several for sale at good discounts. The biggest is for their original Raptor 3D scanner at 38% off, bringing the price under US$1000.
This time of year is perhaps the best time to stock up on equipment at the lowest prices. If you’re looking for an upgrade or an expansion of your hardware capabilities, then you might want to take a look at Creality’s comprehensive holiday sale.
