This week’s selection is the WrapMate by MakerWorld contributor WarriorSoto.
This is an item you should consider printing before the holiday season, as it is a time-saving gadget for wrapping presents.
We’ve all spent time wrapping presents, and it can be pretty tedious. One of the slowest parts of wrapping gifts is to stop and use two hands to pull off a short length of tape. This must be done repeatedly when wrapping.
The WrapMate solves this first-world dilemma by dramatically speeding up the process.
It is basically a tape holder, but with a difference: it has an extension that slides out in front of the tape. The extension has a series of bridges along the tape path, and you are to pull the tape over all of them.
Then, with some handy scissors, you cut the tape between the bridges. The tape segments sit safely on the bridges, ready for you to pick them up — with one hand — for wrapping.
There is space for two rolls of tape, and if your fingers are big enough you can pull them out with a single motion.
Since there are six bridges, you can produce twelve short pieces of tape in literally seconds. That’s enough to wrap several gifts, and this should make wrapping a lot easier.
Now I also need a gadget to properly fold the wrapping paper, but that’s for another day.
