Springing Up With A New Fabbaloo

Welcome to the new Fabbaloo!

Following our recent round of spring cleaning, we’re springing up with a new look today — but all the same 3D printing insights and analysis you’ve come to know.

There are still some kinks to smooth out, and we’re hard at work on them — we wanted to be sure to let you know about what’s going on though, and why.

The New Fabbaloo

We’ve had a few versions of “new Fabbaloo” over the years — hardly escapable, really, when the site’s been around since 2007!

We’ve introduced new looks, new team members, new initiatives, new…news. You name it.

Today’s move is one that we at Team Fabbaloo have been anticipating for some time now, and it’s important for us to do for you: we’ve switched platforms.

After years as a Squarespace site, Fabbaloo has taken the leap into WordPress.

Moving over more than 9,500 (!) 3D printing stories from the last decade-plus took a little bit of doing, and it now means some new workflows for us. But we’re excited, as this new platform should help us all out: it will now be easier for you to navigate, finding the types of stories you’re interested in at a quicker click, all with a (we hope!) easily navigable new look.

Our goal is simple: we want to keep Fabbaloo a handy daily resource for you, with the latest analysis, insights, and news in additive manufacturing just a click away.

We’ll continue to publish more than two dozen stories each week, covering a variety of topics and perspectives.

Each author here brings a different background to bear, and we hope to continue to expand that base with more ways of thinking. (Interested in writing with us? Check out our guest posting guidelines!)

Growing Pains

We’d hoped the transition would be smooth, but a few bumps in the road led to a site outage for a few hours, among a few other moving-related issues. Thanks for bearing with us, and for letting us know you’d noticed! While this time we knew we were down, we always appreciate the heads-up in case of unexpected technical issues.

The same goes now: there are more of you than there are of us, so please do let us know if you see anything that could still use a fix and we’ll be sure all parts of Fabbaloo are up and running with easy operation and functioning links!

We are aware of an issue concerning articles published between 10 March and 20 April not having imported over, as well as issues with article images and the RSS feed, and those fixes — along with a few more — are in progress now.
