Fabbaloo Has a New Writer!

I’m proud to announce we have a new regular contributor, Madhumita Chandrasekaran, also known as Madhu.

Madhu is experienced in STEM writing, and has been using 3D printers to develop robotic systems. She seems to have a particular interest in bioprinting.

She’s a bit of a scientist as well, having participated in a national science fair a few years ago, where she presented a project that used recycled diapers to optimize plant growth. We knew we had the right person when she was able to quickly put together a reasonable story on COVID-19 and, of course, bioprinting.

There’s one unusual fact about Madhu you should know: she’s only 16 years old, and is still attending high school. Despite (and because of!) her age, we’re quite confident she can provide us with quality stories and analyses.

Our interest in bringing Madhu onboard as a contributor is based largely on her talents and interests — but we have to admit that her unique perspective as a student learning about the ins and outs of 3D printing while still in high school sets her apart from the rest of our team’s later-in-life introductions to this technology. Madhu is among the earliest generations to be hands-on with 3D printers while in school, and simply has access to opportunities many of us did not.

Madhu will be writing with us regularly, focusing on areas of her interest as well as documenting some of her journey as a teenager stepping into this technology. We’ve always been proud to support and highlight student efforts in 3D printing, and what better way to help share these efforts than to share the story directly from one of those students?

It’s our hope that Madhu’s insights will offer fresh perspective to this technology, and her experiences will help to inspire other students the world over who are thinking of expanding their horizons to include 3D printing.

Welcome, Madhu!
