BIQU Shifts Strategy Toward Bambu Lab With Extensive Accessory Portfolio

Accessories for Bambu Lab equipment [Source: BIQU]

I’m a bit astonished at the number of Bambu Lab accessories currently sold by BIQU.

BIQU had previously launched the Panda series of accessories for the popular Bambu Lab P series. These items, which we reviewed some time ago, were intended to bring up the P series machines to a level of capability closer to the X series machines.

They proved quite popular, and since then the company seems to be going all-in on Bambu Lab-related products.

In fact, a search I just performed on their site shows no less than 247 products specifically for Bambu Lab models, although the count seem to include variants. That’s probably more than the number of parts Bambu Lab themselves offers for sale.

What kind of accessories are these? It seems that BIQU has developed products for every possible area they feel they could improve the Bambu Lab experience. No touchscreen? Here’s one you can install. Printing too slow? Here’s a high flow hot end. Prints not sticking? Try this high adhesion print plate.

You get the idea. Looking through their enormous list of products I see these:

  • Print plates
  • Lighting upgrades
  • Touchscreens
  • Heavy duty extruder mods
  • Advanced cooling ducts
  • Smart toolhead display
  • Replacement toolhead covers
  • USB adapter
  • Power management solutions
  • Port expansions
  • RGB status lights
  • Temperature and humidity sensor
  • Nozzle brush
  • Cross breeze fan
  • Transparent enclosures
  • Insulating “fur”
  • AMS mounts
  • Transportation base & strap

And that’s only accessories that attach to the Bambu Lab 3D printers. They also offer compatible accessories, such as scrapers, adhesion solutions, spool racks, and, strangely, shoelaces. They come in black or white.

Why introduce all these products? I think they are experiencing the effects of industry consolidation.

BIQU sells generic 3D printer parts, but also complete 3D printers. However, when looking through their site it seems that they are all older, open gantry systems that are now marked down to 50% off. Their latest machine, the Hurakan, contains more modern features, but it still marked down.

It’s pretty clear now that desktop 3D printer sales are tipping very hard toward only a few major providers, and others are going to have a difficult time keeping up. I suspect that BIQU opened up the Bambu Lab product line to take advantage of that company’s massive sales.

What do they say, if you can’t beat them, then join them? This could be BIQU’s way of “joining” them, and riding Bambu Lab’s wave of success.

It’s a smart strategy, and one that should work. However, it also suggests that industry consolidation is clearly underway.
