IT3D Group produces a flexible line of industrial FFF and FGF 3D printers.
The Spanish company has been around for about ten years and produces not only 3D printers but also 3D scanners, AR/VR solutions, and materials. Their current distribution network involves sales partners in over 35 different countries. They also resell the CoLiDo line of 3D printers for the educational sector.
Today we’re looking at their own brand, the IT3D 3D printers. Their website lists at least eight different versions of these devices, but there’s a lot of mix-and-match components.
For example, their 300 x 300 x 450 mm platform can be acquired with:
- One filament extruder
- One pellet extruder
- Two filament extruders
- One filament extruder and one pellet extruder
- Two pellet extruders
This is perhaps the only 3D printer option I’ve seen where you can have both pellet and filament options running in the same print job. While their filament hot end can reach 500C, capable of printing high-temperature materials, their pellet hot end reaches only 300C. A wide range of nozzle diameters is also available.
An interesting approach might be to use a small nozzle on the filament extruder to achieve fine details, while using a large-diameter nozzle on the pellet extruder to quickly provide infill. That could result in a quick print job without compromising detail.
They also provide a 500 x 500 x 500 mm platform that uses four independent toolheads. Like the other platform, this one can also mix and match filament and pellet extruders, with six different combinations available.
Finally, they offer a customizable 1000 x 1000 x 1000 mm build volume platform, which includes all the usual operational conveniences.
In these highly competitive days, it’s challenging for a 3D printer company to distinguish itself from other equipment providers. However, IT3D’s mix of pellet and filament toolheads could be attractive to many manufacturers.
