This week’s selection is the oddly satisfying Puzzle Cube by WildRoseBuilds.
We’re not sure exactly who the Calgary-based WildRoseBuilds maker and artist is, but this particular design is brilliant.
Yes, it’s one of those numerous puzzle cubes you frequently see, often in 3D model repositories where you can download, print and attempt to assemble them. This puzzle cube is no different in that respect.
In fact, it’s even simpler than most, having only four parts.
But that’s not the magic of this puzzle cube. The magic is, well, just watch:
I did say, oddly satisfying, and this item most certainly is.
It’s also a very easy 3D print; no supports are required, and there is but one part. You just need to 3D print it four times, and I’d recommend using different colors, as WildRoseBuilds has done in the video.
I particularly like this design because it uses a relatively simple geometry to implement a complex motion, always desirable in a design.
