This week’s selection is the Shower Screen Towel Hook by MakerWorld contributor dot.STL.
This is a popular model, having been trending on MakerWorld for a little while. It’s a simple hook system for hanging towels, and it’s designed to mount directly on glass separators in showers.
The hook is designed to accommodate up to three towels, as you can see the three tendrils reaching upwards in the images.
Printing the hook is relatively straightforward. There are only two parts, one for each side of the glass.
Due to the non-flat geometry of this model, you must print it with support structures enabled. This means you will have to pull off a considerable amount of support after printing, which is complicated by the irregular surface of the hook. But it can be done.
One aspect to watch is the support structures attached to the link point between the two parts. If you don’t have your support structure print parameters tuned perfectly you will have trouble removing the support. That might cause problems gluing the two parts together.
Nevertheless, this is an eminently practical and straightforward 3D print to enhance your shower experience.
