This week’s selection is the Spill & Refill Coffee Mug Fidget by MakerWorld contributor 3DPmom.

This is a very fun project that I encountered while looking for interesting fidget devices. It’s a bit hard to tell what’s going on from the still image above, but here’s what it does:

The “coffee” in the mug is actually an interlocking set of sliders. It is possible to extend the length by pulling it out, or by letting gravity pull the sliders.

In other words, you tip the coffee mug over, and the sliders “spill” out. I can envision many surprise scenarios where this item could be extraordinarily useful.

There are two parts to this project: the mug and the coffee.

The mug is pretty much a standard mug, except that it has a small threaded hole at the bottom — do not use this as a mug for actual liquid!

The coffee prints vertically and the sliders interlock as it is printed. At the top is a bolt that is threaded into the mug’s hole for assembly. You simply insert the coffee into the mug and turn it to lock it in place. This way the coffee does not fully fall out, and the sliders remain attached to the mug.

With that, you can easily retract the sliders and put them back in place for … yet another surprise.

You will have fun. Your co-workers will not.
