Would you like to have your own set of industrial ceramic 3D printers? For free?

That is actually possible with a special giveaway that’s taking place. We were contacted by Forrest Snyder, one of the original founders of Figulo.

Hold on, what’s Figulo? It was an up-and-coming 3D print service that was, I believe, the first to offer 3D printed ceramic parts, way back in 2013.

The company used zCorp polymer powder printers to print ceramics, except that they changed the materials used in the system. They were quite successful, and a couple of years later were acquired by 3D Systems during their “takeover years”. (3D Systems acquired dozens and dozens of small 3D print companies during the 2010-2015 period.)

However, like most of the 3D Systems acquisitions, Figulo was shut down when they changed strategies and abandoned their Cubify project at the end of 2015.

What’s going on now? Snyder explains:

“I’ve got the two original zCorp z310 printers we used to do our research and production. In addition, I have two additional printers for parts. I’d like to find a home for them quickly, rather than give them to the scrap metal man. The printers are located in Providence, RI, right off I-95.”

Snyder wants to give the entire set of machines, four in all, as a group. He said that they have not only huge historic value in the 3D print universe, but also that they can be used to learn about binder jet 3D printing.

Apparently, two printers were still in regular operation in 2024, so they very likely still can run after a bit of clean-up.

Snyder is including all the manuals, miscellaneous parts, accessories, and notes that accompany the equipment.

That includes the post processing station to remove stray powder, an essential accessory.

If you’re interested in taking these binder jet printers, Snyder asks that you contact him at [email protected] to arrange the details.

This is your one chance to obtain a full set of proper industrial 3D printers — with parts — for just the cost of picking them up.
