Some news from Steakholder Foods: they are launching a new product in the US.

The Israeli firm has developed sophisticated “meat printers” that can deposit material that mimics real meat, specifically steak, although they can mimic other types as well.

It has long been thought that 3D-printed meat may eventually take the place of farm-grown meats for a number of reasons, but there is clearly a very long path ahead for that to happen. The technology has been around for a while, but hasn’t seemed to have captured the imagination of food buyers.

That might change with the announcement from Steakholder Foods that they will be launching new 3D-printed meat products in the US. They are “preparing” to launch their Perfecta Premium Plant-Based Meat product in the US later in 2026. They are targeting vegetarian and flexitarian consumers with the new products. They explain:

“Perfecta will be positioned as a next-generation, plant-based protein platform, expanding across multiple protein analog categories and designed to address the primary barriers limiting plant-based category expansion, namely taste, texture, and the experience of eating a whole cut of meat.”

The Perfecta line includes five different 3D-printed alt-meat products:

  • Chicken breasts
  • Marbled steak
  • Salmon patties
  • White fish patties
  • Filet mignon

Alt-meat has been struggling in the marketplace in recent years, mainly due to consumer questions about price and the nutritional value of the products. Steakholder Foods will have to overcome those challenges to have success with the Perfecta release, which is scheduled for the second half of this year.

Come October, you may see 3D-printed meat in your grocery store.

By the way, Steakholder Foods is one of the few publicly traded 3D-print companies that we track on our weekly valuation leaderboard. It should be interesting to see if this announcement causes a bump in the company’s value.
