Every year Additive Industries sponsors an industrial 3D printing event, Additive World.
To no oneās surprise, the event is coming up again, this time over two days, April 1-2, 2020. The event, as usual, takes place in Eindhoven, Netherlands, which happens to be the headquarters of Additive Industries.
The conference includes speakers on a number of specialized topics related to industrial 3D printing, and in particular, metal 3D printing. These include:

Speakers are all from notable additive manufacturing organizations, including Autodesk, APWORKS, Ampower, CfAM and others.
The second day of the conference takes place at Eindhovenās Brainport Industries campus, where they intend to demonstrate Additive Industriesā MetalFAB1 3D printer. Attendees will be able to take a close look at the operations of the device.
One of the highlights of this event for us is their annual design challenge. The āAdditive World Design For Additive Manufacturing Challenge 2020ā was open to both student and professional categories, however the deadline for entering a design was February 1st. Currently the entries are being evaluating.
Winners of the Challenge will be determined by a jury of sponsor, all of whom are leading authorities in 3D printing, including Ultimaker, Altair Engineering, MakerPoint and others. Prizes include entrance to the event, software licenses and even an Ultimaker S3 3D printer.
In the past the jury has always selected some very intriguing entries that demonstrate new thinking in design for additive manufacturing. I believe this is quite important because in general this is still a poorly-understood technique that requires more attention. Iām hoping this Challenge will help push understanding forward.
