Authentise announced a compelling software bundle for additive manufacturing organizations.
Readers may recall that the company announced in February that it had been working with Autodesk to develop a way of integrating Authentise tools with Autodesk Fusion.
At the time, they published this chart showing how Fusion functions could assist at various points in the product development and manufacturing lifecycle.
This integration is quite powerful and provides a kind of virtual one platform where manufacturers can execute almost the entire lifecycle. In addition, Authentise tools will provide all the necessary real-time monitoring, collaboration, and tracking functions for designs and manufactured parts.
The news this week is that Authentise announced a new bundled pricing option, where organizations can acquire both tools, Autodesk Fusion, and Authentise Flows in a single purchase.
Authentise CEO Andre Wegner explains:
“We’ve seen how compelling this integration is for companies who want a simpler, smarter way to produce parts. By combining the world-class design and simulation tools of Autodesk Fusion with our agile production management platform, we’re giving engineers and manufacturers a full-stack digital thread at a fraction of the effort and risk it usually takes.”
Authentise is launching the bundled software in July with two options.
There’s a “Polymer Bundle” intended for those producing 3D printed parts for five named users, priced at US$33,000 per year. That’s about US$550/month for each user.
There’s also the “Metal Bundle”, which includes all of the above but adds process simulation and 5-axis milling functions. This bundle is priced at US$46,500 per year for five named users, or about US$775 per month per user.
Payment is interesting. Authentise explains:
“Deployment is low-risk: no license fees are charged during rollout, and only 50% of the deployment fee is due to start. The remainder is deferred until customer acceptance—regardless of how long that takes.”
That should provide some confidence among buyers who are unsure of the benefits of the solution.
I expect these bundles will be of particular interest to small and medium-sized manufacturers that are getting into additive manufacturing, since they cover most of the bases in a single purchase. Those that are already using Autodesk Fusion will be able to begin using the workflows almost immediately.
Authentise has closed the gap between design and manufacturing with this integration, and it should enable more efficient use of 3D print technologies.
