This week’s selection is the FIFA World Cup Trophy by Printables contributor santiis2010.

There’s only one possible 3D model to select this week, and it’s the World Cup trophy. That’s because, if you have been living under a rock, this week the World Cup opens in North America.

Millions will be watching the games worldwide, and each viewing site should obviously have a World Cup trophy on hand to provide some additional colour to the experience. Here you can simply print your own.

Designer santiis2010 has provided this original 3D model on several platforms, including Printables, to make it quite accessible. That’s much in contrast to physically attending the games, where tickets are priced at the same level as a very good used car. That makes it challenging for many fans to attend, and especially so for games in the US where entry rules have been amplified.

Not so with this 3D model; just download and print it.

But there’s one catch: the trophy is designed to be printed with a Z height of 400mm, so ideally you’ll want to print this on a large format 3D printer. If you don’t have one, like most readers, then the solution is to simply chop it in two using tools in your slicing software and print both parts. Glue is your friend here.

As for who’s winning the tournament? I don’t know, but you can pretend you are the winner when you print this 3D model.

And don’t forget to use shiny gold filament.
