Prusa Research published a new video advert, and it’s very different from their usual style.

In the past, Prusa Research’s promotional videos tended to be straightforward and focus on machine specs and features.

The new ad is very different: they literally set a CORE One on fire!

The ad features an overly caffeinated spokesperson that demonstrates the extreme durability of the CORE One through a number of improbable activities. At one point, he is revealed to be standing on a CORE One that is printing.

In the video, they crash a car into a CORE One, and apparently, it actually powered up and worked — to some degree — after the incident. I’m not sure if the print quality would be the same, however.

Nevertheless, the ad then promoted Prusa Research’s excellent spare parts service, which can be used to quickly repair your CORE One should you accidentally drop it off a cliff or leave it in the oven.

It’s all for fun, but does hint at the CORE One’s more robust physical design. That might be an advantage over competing machines that might not survive falls, crashes, or fires. On the other hand, how likely are those events to happen to your machine?

Finally, even Prusa Research realizes they’re stepping into a different world of promotion. They wrote:

“[DRAFT – DO NOT PUBLISH] Who approved this?!”
