This week’s selection is the iPhone Fold Replica by MakerWorld contributor Subsy.
This is a pretty unusual 3D model, as it is of a product that may — or may not — exist. The long rumored “iPhone Fold” supposedly could be announced next year by Apple.
What is a “fold”? It is a very unusual smartphone design in which the screen itself is able to fold in half. You wouldn’t think of doing such a thing with your iPad or TV, but it is apparently possible to design panels that can fold. There have been foldable models released by competitors, although often there is a visible “seam” where the fold occurs.
Apple hasn’t said anything about such a model, but there are plenty of rumors flying about. Recently someone leaked what might be CAD drawings of the iPhone Fold, although we have no idea whether they are actually real or even close to real.

Designer Subsy took those CAD drawings and converted them into an actual 3D model that can be printed.
Why do this? Subsy explains:
“The primary purpose of this model isn’t to speculate on internal engineering, but to give you a physical reference you can actually hold. It’s intended to help you compare the form factor to existing foldable phones, understand how it feels in your hand when open and closed, and decide whether it’s worth waiting for the expected release next year.”
There’s no way to know if you could even buy an iPhone Fold next year, let alone the specifications and pricing. But you can 3D print this replica today.
