Blizzard has released a massive set of 3D printable models for Warcraft Rumble.

Warcraft Rumble is a free-to-play mobile game from the gaming giant, first launched in 2023. The game involves tower defence and strategy, and offers both single and multiplayer modes.

The game’s characters were specially designed to be visually distinct on small mobile devices, which involved specific colour sets and silhouettes.

Now those very characters can be 3D printed. The company has set up a page where 100 different characters can be easily downloaded.

The site is easily used, and requires no login. It has to be the easiest site I’ve ever used for this type of thing: you click on the character icon and it downloads. That’s it! Normally companies would be collecting email addresses as “payment” for content of this type, but Blizzard gets extra marks for this.

The models are provided under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International Public License, meaning you can use them for personal use so long as you don’t change them. That should be more than sufficient for most 3D printer operators.

The downloads are in ZIP format, which contains several versions of the model. One version is the model without a base, another is the base.

There are also versions that include support structures.

I am particularly impressed with the support structures here as they include the proper lip on the raft that makes it easy to remove from the print plate.

Well done, Blizzard!
