This week’s selection is the Minimalist Tick Remover by Printables contributor override2231.
It’s spring and as the seasons change, so do the critters we encounter in the wilds. One that unfortunately appears every spring is the tick. A tiny fellow that likes to crawl up your legs and attach itself to your body to extract… well, let’s just leave it there. They are not fun.
They should be removed, but it can be quite tricky doing so, because… well, we won’t get into that either.
What I will say is that this simple tool will enable you to very quickly and completely remove the tick and leave nothing behind. It’s simple — and ingenious.
How does it work? You hold onto the remover’s round end, and place the tick in the hole. Then, slide the remover to force the tick towards the pointy end of the hole, and it will be yanked out. Easy!
This is one of the simplest 3D models we’ve featured in Design of the Week, but it could be one of the most useful. They are obviously very easy to print, so you should print a batch of them and give to friends, especially those with dogs, because… well, we won’t get into that either.
Enjoy the spring!
