It’s Rapid Time Again!

After a postponement of their 2020 event due to the worldwide pandemic, RAPID + TCT is back again in 2021.

The event has grown to become the second-largest 3D print event on the planet, with hundreds of exhibitors and many thousands of attendees. The last event our team attended took place in Detroit, in May 2019, where we were able to speak with hundreds of companies and participants in additive manufacturing.

The 2020 event was originally scheduled for spring 2020, but the event was smartly cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions, and timing did not allow the organizers the ability to offer an online version of RAPID + TCT.

This year, however, things are quite different. With restrictions gradually evaporating, it is now possible to hold large events like RAPID + TCT, and that’s exactly what’s happening in Chicago on September 13-15.

SME has selected Chicago due to its central location and ease of access for most attendees. While the date is somewhat later in the year as compared to prior RAPID + TCT events, that allowed more time for everyone to plan a successful event.

For those who haven’t attended a RAPID + TCT event in the past, it is a mix of scheduled talks and a large trade show floor where hundreds of exhibitors provide information and demonstrations of their additive manufacturing and related products and services. You’ll see technologies from the worlds of 3D printing, 3D scanning, CAD/CAE, metrology and inspection, and more.

There will be talks throughout each event day from industry experts on a wide variety of topics. This year talks will be focused on one of four themes: Adoption, Evaluation, Medical Additive Manufacturing and Optimization. Almost 80 talks are currently scheduled, so all questions will no doubt be answered.

In addition to the official program, many exhibitors will hold off-site events where significant networking can take place. SME said there is likely to be more than 3,000 attendees to this year’s event.

The event is three days in length, and should be sufficient for attendees to see all the equipment, software and services of interest to them.

While we have all spent the past year attending online events from home, there’s nothing quite like an in-person event. Being present allows you to ask questions you might not have thought of without seeing the equipment or sample prints. In my experience, attending RAPID + TCT has always exceeded my expectations in terms of the information I’ve obtained from participating. We also have tips on attending this show (helpful to review perhaps as we all get reaccustomed to meeting in person).

That’s why Fabbaloo is happy to be a media sponsor for RAPID + TCT 2021, and also why you should consider attending this year’s event.

It’s possible to attend for as little as US$100, which gets you into the vast trade show floor. However, for the full experience we recommend the US$495 Full Conference option, where you will see not only the trade show floor, but also all the conference and keynote presentations.
